AMERICAN Equipment Information:

American Equipment Company, most commonly known as AMECO, began in Greenville, South Carolina in 1947 as an equipment and tool division of the Daniel Construction Company. It incorporated in 1972 so it could expand outside of Daniel Construction and focused heavily on railroad equipment. It then acquired Daniel Construction and Fluor Corporation in 1977. Throughout the 1990s, AMECO worked to expand its business into Puerto Rico, Mexico, Canada, Asia Pacific, and Latin America. To date, the business also can cater to England, Africa, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. AMECO earns nearly $500 million per year and employs approximately 2,000 people.

There are five key points that AMECO strives to achieve with each client and each job. Being responsive is a strong goal and they work to treat everyone as individuals rather than run their business with a standard method for everyone. They are also well known for being very reliable to all deadlines and consistent service no matter the size of the job. Innovation has been with the company since its inception and is still a priority. They listen to their clients’ needs and strive to find ways to improve products and services. Safety is a major concern and they have been routinely ranked as one of the safest companies in the US, a reputation they want to maintain. Lastly, they strive to work only with people who are knowledgeable and qualified for their position. Employees are also able to enroll at Fluor University to complete continuing education courses so they can work their way up or simply stay in the know as technology changes.

AMECO offers a slew of rail and construction equipment while also offering other services. These services include fleet services, onsite tool support, scaffolding, and mining services. Their equipment may be used, purchased new, or rented.
