Clark Equipment has been one of the most trusted names in the heavy equipment industry for more than a century. Founded as the George R. Rich Manufacturing Company in 1903 in Chicago by Illinois Steel Company executives. In 1916, the company became Clark Equipment Company at the hands of Eugene Clark. The company continued to grow and expand over the following decades, until the brand was sold to Ingersoll Rand in 1995. The company changed hands again in 2007, with Clark Equipment now being a part of Doosan International which is based out of South Korea.
Over the years, Clark has manufactured a wide range of construction and industrial equipment. They have produced cranes, forklifts, backhoes, loaders, and more. One of the most interesting pieces in Clark equipment history was an aluminum body trolley that was a fixture on the streets of Brooklyn and Queens in the mid-1930s. This piece sits on display today in the Trolley Museum of New York. In the 1980s, a partnership between Clark and Volvo resulted in the two becoming a combined powerhouse in the off-highway truck and front-end loader market. This partnership later resulted in a name change for that division of the Clark company, combining with a subsidiary and Volvo to become the VME Group.
Currently, Clark Equipment’s main focus is in forklifts with a variety of different models available to fit the needs of a number of different businesses. Buyers can choose from IC-Pneumatic, IC-Cushion, Electric, Narrow Aisle, and Walkie-Pallet-Stacker models to find the perfect fit for their warehouse or job sites. The innovative S-Series expands on years of quality lift truck manufacturing, while the GEX models work both indoors and out. OSX order selectors and WSTX pallet stackers round out the product line to get the job done safely and efficiently in warehouses.
