KOMATSU Equipment Information:

Komatsu Equipment is a subsidiary of Komatsu Ltd, the second largest leader in supplying and manufacturing earth-moving, construction, and mining equipment. Komatsu began its journey in 1917 in Japan. The company received its name Komatsu after the city of the same name. In English, the name “Komatsu” means “little pine tree” and honors the monk-emperor Kazan who planted a tiny pine sapling. That area grew to become known as sono no komatsubara, meaning small-pine field with gardens, or “komatsu.” In 1921, Komatsu Iron Works broke away from Takeuchi Mining Co. and Komatsu Ltd. was established. By the 1960s, Komatsu began selling its construction and earth-moving products in North America, but didn’t become established in the U.S. until February 1970.

Komatsu Equipment strives to create products customers are proud to own. Komatsu believes pride in ownership begins with its employees. Their promise to quality and reliability begin with inventive and loyal employees. Komatsu believes this is a key principle in continuously improving and moving forward as a company. At the forefront of the business is being willing to listen to the customer’s needs and collaborating across the boards with dealers, customers, and their network at large gives Komatsu the edge in state-of-the-art construction, mining, and earth-moving equipment.

In keeping in line with the promise of creating original and useful equipment, Komatsu creates custom equipment for use in industries such as waste, material handling, metalworking, forestry, and applications with autonomous navigation. Komatsu equipment offers operator training and consulting to ensure customers are getting the most out of the equipment they buy or sell as a distributor. Building this layer of support gives owners and operators of Komatsu equipment reassurance and a guide in best practices with each piece of equipment. Komatsu’s dedication to reducing atmospheric pollutants can be found in building equipment that uses 30% less fuel and reducing emissions up to 30% - such as the HB365LC-3 Hydraulic Excavator.
