    Booms

When working on projects that are elevated, it’s important to have a boom available to do it safely. Booms are aerial lifts which will carry one or more workers, along with tools and materials needed, up to the space where the work needs to be done. Booms are able to lift one or more workers and a certain amount of additional weight depending on the model specifications.

There are two classes of booms. Telescopic boom lifts are also called stick or straight booms. They have a single hinged extended arm that is able to move across a large distance. Thanks to their stability, these booms are perfect to use in open spaces and on rectangular structures. Articulating boom lifts may also be called a knuckle boom. This type of boom has segmented arms that are able to move a platform around things and within tighter spaces. This type of boom takes more time to learn to operate and maintain due to the complexity of the machine. These booms are especially important in large cities where space is limited and structures may be more complex.

Booms are available in diesel, gas, electric, and hybrid options. Depending on the terrain being used in, there are a variety of tire options. Depending on the type of job required, booms come in 30-foot to 180-foot lengths to reach up to a 19-story tower.

There are well over 1,000 booms available to purchase on Equipment Trader. Use the advanced search option to check the current inventory under the Booms category. You can narrow the available booms down by weight it can carry, height it can extend to, or more within this search option.
